Process Details
Step 1: Consultation with Customer – During this step, the customer is able to explain their needs and desires. This can include specific details such as measurements, material, desired look and style and more.
Step 2: Drafting – Once the details have been established during the consultation, the craftsperson creates a blueprint of what the final product will look like.
Step 3: Measuring & Cutting – The design from Step 2 is used to create an exact cut pattern for each piece or component of the furniture piece. Skilled craftspeople use specialized tools and techniques to ensure accuracy in cutting, shaping and sanding.
Step 4: Joining & Assembly – After each component has been tailored for perfection, all pieces are joined together using various combinations of woodworking joints and screws. Only high-grade materials are used for assembly of the furniture piece(s).
Step 5: Finishing – When all components have been joined together and properly set in place, then a finish or patina is applied to enhance the visual appeal of the piece(s). Options range from stains, paint, waxes or oils which are carefully applied according to customer preferences.
Step 6: Final Touches & Delivery – The finishing touches of any project incorporates any small changes that may be needed to complete the job (i.e., replacing handles on drawers). Once complete, Kc Custom Woodworking delivers your fully finished project straight to you!
